A little bit about ourselves
OUR HISTORY
In September 2014 Darren and Jose met while working on the construction of a build-to-spec industrial warehouse in Leduc; Jose acting as a project manager and Darren as a finance expert wanting to know more about construction while actively participating in the project. During this time, they realized they had more in common than what they imagined; they had a different perspective towards the meaning of construction in this era and they were convinced that there could be better construction systems. They believed that the focus should be on “lean” construction; that documentation along the process was indispensable in order to monitor progress and its cost, and that technology and innovation should be present in every aspect of a construction company.
Together they decided to start 4C Group and ever since they have been tackling project challenges in the most efficient, feasible and open minded way they have been able to.
So dream, build and improve the world one project at a time!

The systems (progressive technology) we use allow us to provide a better and more efficient service to our customers since they are able to have virtual tours through videos where you can “navigate” the project for a more realistic feeling and understanding of what the project will look like.

Career
JOSE CASTANON
Co-owner & Director of Operations
Being a founding partner, Jose is a very passionate and experienced person with a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering who worked in the industrial construction in Mexico as a general contractor, some of his most renowned projects include those for L’Oréal, Pirelli, General Motors, Procter & Gamble and BRP. In Canada, Jose gained experience in the concrete industry and then as a Project Manager for light industrial projects such as warehouses and shops. Jose is our Director of Operations who oversees projects from their beginning to their end, being involved in every step of the way from the estimating, to the planning and the running of job sites. What more could we ask for our Director of Operations but someone so passionate about construction as Jose, who finds beauty in seeing the end-result and perpetuity of each project.
MARIO RODRIGUEZ
Lead Architect
Mario has a Bachelor of Science in Architecture as well as a Master in Architectural Visualization from Spain. In the past 8 years he has gained professional experience in design and 3D Architectural Visualization working in general designs of commercial, housing and touristic places. With all his previous and valuable experience, Mario is in charge of finding the best solution to the challenges presented by our clients’ needs while searching for innovation and constant improvement or resources while respecting each of our projects’ surroundings.
DARREN McKENNA
Co-owner & Director of Finances
Darren is a founding partner of 4C Group. He graduated from Business Finance at NAIT and began his career in the banking industry, he has over 15 years experience in the finance industry. He is now our Director of Finances and overlooks our projects to determine the best path to make cost-effective and smart choices that will result in satisfying our customers’ needs offering a competitive price with outstanding quality. His passion for construction continues to grow with each project that 4C Group starts and completes.
